Verdinegros San Juan's Gilberto Argoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Cai in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Cai in the 41st minute of play forced Verdinegros San Juan's goalkeeper Gilberto Argoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgardo Cai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Argoitz having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elvio Incendio got free with Gilberto Argoitz in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reynaldo Abel hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Edgardo Cai fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gilberto Argoitz, passed just outside the right post. When Elvio Incendio came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Tacuarendí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elvio Incendio couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Verdinegros San Juan could leave the field as winners, despite Tacuarendí having more of the ball for most of the match.
