When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cosme Chago made a kick off. With a little luck, Gimnasia y Esgrima's Anibal Arnas got control of the ball when Geronimo Ofelio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gimnasia y Esgrima's Anibal Arnas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Gimnasia y Esgrima from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Club Sportivo Maipú could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gimnasia y Esgrima throughout the match.
