Subtrenmetrocleta's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Paul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Arnas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ceferino Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Chago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Maximo Llorian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Subtrenmetrocleta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximo Llorian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cosme Chago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ceferino Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leopoldo Bembe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Anibal Arnas made a huge save. In the 54th minute of the match Subtrenmetrocleta got a corner. Gimnasia y Esgrima's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Filomeno Silvanito ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 57th minute, Cosme Chago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Gimnasia y Esgrima getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Igor Balesio hit a great ball. Alfredo Godoy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Balesio in the 61st minute. Igor Balesio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Chago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Alfredo Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Subtrenmetrocleta's zone, Igor Balesio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Godoy came out of the goal and Igor Balesio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo Godoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosme Chago in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Subtrenmetrocleta's goal looked a bit too open when Cosme Chago came free, but Alfredo Godoy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cosme Chago struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Alfredo Godoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y Esgrima. Gimnasia y Esgrima's Igor Balesio got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85thth minute of the game Igor Balesio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Subtrenmetrocleta's Alfredo Godoy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cosme Chago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gimnasia y Esgrima's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
