The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Browers's goalkeeper Juan Bidari had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximo Dominix. Islandia's Hermengildo Maidana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Joey in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Browers's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Fidencio came free, but Juan Bidari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Maximo Dominix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Genaro Chale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Browers's supporters rose to their feet, but Genaro Chale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermengildo Maidana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Osvaldo Joey struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Hermengildo Maidana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Browers. Maximo Dominix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Juan Bidari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ismael Fidencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Lorien in the 38th minute of play forced Islandia's goalkeeper Hermengildo Maidana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Islandia's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro Chale came free, but Hermengildo Maidana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Osvaldo Joey came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Browers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Joey couldn't finish the play. Islandia's Maximo Dominix got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Browers getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Ignacio Lorien hit a great ball. Ismael Fidencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Juan Bidari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a rather tough play, Browers's Raul Steven got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 55th minute Ismael Fidencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Bidari saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Bidari stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximo Dominix's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Genaro Chale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Hermengildo Maidana made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Browers's Osvaldo Joey slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hermengildo Maidana. That made the score 1-1 after 72 minutes of play. Tobias Oidor kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Genaro Chale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Hermengildo Maidana made a huge save. Islandia's Hermengildo Maidana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Joey in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the Islandia defense, Genaro Chale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hermengildo Maidana. The Islandia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermengildo Maidana should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Browers eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
