Mario Erasto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Erroman, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 40th minute Octavio George shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Beremundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 67th match minute, Caminiaga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Peru to maneuver through the defense. Faustino Erroman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Lev Davidovich's goal looked a bit too open when Honorato Guib came free, but Mario Erasto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lev Davidovich's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Millrick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Beremundo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caminiaga's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
