Carmelo Primeiro started the match with the kick off. Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Feliberto Paz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Epifanio Tibalt's late challenge caught a Atlanta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Epifanio Tibalt helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Atlanta FC booed when Tafí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Tibalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Hernani Toscano came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Atlanta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Toscano couldn't finish the play. Atlanta FC's Emiliano Roldan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Atlanta FC from getting a goal against them. In the 10th match minute, Tafí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godofredo Ekhi to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Tafí's Feliberto Paz. Feliberto Paz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliberto Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernani Toscano in the 18th minute of the match. Hernani Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliberto Paz having to interfere. Rene Tajo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emiliano Roldan came out and tried to block the shot, but Rene Tajo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Atlanta FC's Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Atlanta FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Hernani Toscano made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Atlanta FC's Hernani Toscano got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Carmelo Primeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dame Branca hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Toscano in the 69th minute of play forced Tafí's goalkeeper Feliberto Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Atlanta FC's Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Feliberto Paz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th match minute, Tafí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santos Menendo to maneuver through the defense. Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliberto Paz having to interfere. Ulises Quico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dame Branca took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Feliberto Paz. Tafí's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wolfgang-Bernd Dremark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliberto Paz having to interfere. Feliberto Paz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Atlanta FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tafí throughout the match.
