Paulino Tano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Txilar having to interfere. San lorenzo were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Granjeros F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Epifanio Vigil took the corner. After taking down the ball on San lorenzo's corner Augusto Rodas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Braulio Txilar quite easily take care of the ball. Paulino Tano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Froilan Patxi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Braulio Txilar firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in San lorenzo's zone, Pedro Thomas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaias Ubendu came out of the goal and Pedro Thomas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Alfredo Lico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Panpili to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Braulio Jacindo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granjeros F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Braulio Jacindo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaias Ubendu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th play minute Pedro Thomas came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Isaias Ubendu. 0-1. Froilan Patxi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braulio Txilar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. If Pedro Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaias Ubendu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Panpili, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The San lorenzo manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Granjeros F.C. to win.
