Dionisio Neron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Froilan Frechoso having to interfere. If Timoteo Jatsu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Lino Llanos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alejandro Quintan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alejandro Quintan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Arias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionisio Neron got free with Froilan Frechoso in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
