The referee gave Eliseo Tercero a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Eliseo Tercero hit a great ball. If Manuel Heli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Ashes FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Independiente:s goal. Ashes FC:s Efrain Odilon showed great skill when he stopped Martin Goizeder:s penalty. In the 47th minute Eriberto Jerold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Hulberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
