After recieving a nice pass, Chepes's Justo Jakobe tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Honorato Iyan in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Higinio Bikendi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Esquel booed when Chepes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Rami didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hector Eguerdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Angel Loi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Chepes's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Eguerdi came free, but Angel Loi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angel Loi made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Donato Teyo sent off a good shot on target. Donato Teyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Eguerdi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Angel Loi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Eguerdi in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chepes's goalkeeper Angel Loi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amancio Maraman got his second yellow card in the match during the 61st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Justo Jakobe got in the 62nd minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Higinio Bikendi and thus it was 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Donato Teyo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esquel's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Teyo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Loi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
