An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Urbez in the 22nd minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Tomas Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Yalapa's zone, Damian Urbez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Karmel came out of the goal and Damian Urbez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nunez Lesardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Tomas Karmel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damian Urbez in the 53rd minute. Modesto Azeari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Adrio in the 55th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Larpe during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 65 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Gau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ledesma AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yalapa the free kick. Ledesma AFC's Modesto Azeari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Adrio in the 89th minute of play. If Damian Urbez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Urbez in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tomas Karmel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 97th match minute, Yalapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Orti to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
