The supporters of Chiwenwenchas booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Shantala didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justino Sol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Adrio having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Justino Sol to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute of the match Zacarias Maiorga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benedicto Adrio skillfully saved the ball. Justino Sol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Adrio having to interfere. Chiwenwenchas's Jaime Tibalt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Chiwenwenchas from getting a goal against them. In the 68th match minute, Chiwenwenchas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Mendez to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute Justino Sol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Adrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedicto Adrio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justino Sol in the 90th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chiwenwenchas's zone, Teo Oton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Tibalt came out of the goal and Teo Oton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
