In the 4th minute, Rigoberto Tanio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conrado Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roman Ciano. Los Chacales's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Los Chacales's Silvestre Llorienzo got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute of the match Conrado Barros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roman Ciano skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Ritchie in the 8th minute of play forced Los Chacales's goalkeeper Roman Ciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Igor Ritchie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Ciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Ciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Ritchie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RIVER's Cosme Llope proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save RIVER from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Chacales's goalkeeper Roman Ciano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Los Chacales's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Ritchie came free, but Roman Ciano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21stth minute of the game Igor Ritchie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Chacales's Roman Ciano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of RIVER booed when Los Chacales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Tanio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 played minutes, RIVER's Jose Pirro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roman Ciano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RIVER reached it. After 24 played minutes Los Chacales got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Tanio. Roman Ciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Ritchie in the 25th minute of play. When Igor Ritchie, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 32 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Roman Ciano was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Hugo Nardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosme Llope read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Osasun in the 37th minute of play forced Los Chacales's goalkeeper Roman Ciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Igor Ritchie in the 38th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After having played for 39 minutes, Agustin Frances managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RIVER's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustin Frances was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roman Ciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Ritchie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Ritchie to make the kick off. Cosme Llope showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Haitz in the 52nd minute of the match. After 59 minutes, Igor Ritchie made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Los Chacales's Roman Ciano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Los Chacales getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Justino Montes hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Teo Venceslao fired a really elegant long shot, but Roman Ciano threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. 72 minutes into the match, RIVER's Bruno Osasun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roman Ciano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. It was a well-played corner which Jose Pirro managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Los Chacales's Roman Ciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Ritchie in the 77th minute of play. After 77 played minutes Los Chacales got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Nardo. After a rather tough play, Los Chacales's Silvestre Llorienzo got a free kick in the 78th minute. Roman Ciano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conrado Barros in the 80th minute. Igor Ritchie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roman Ciano having to make a save. Roman Ciano was a little too slow when Igor Ritchie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Igor Ritchie managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Ritchie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Ciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roman Ciano made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Agustin Frances sent off a good shot on target. Bruno Osasun in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Roman Ciano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 93 played minutes RIVER got a freekick which was hit by Jose Pirro. Federico Quin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RIVER eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
