The referee ignored Harp Blues FC's protests and gave Isidro Matthew a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Harp Blues FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Isidro Matthew hit a great ball. Ladislao Gaxan struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Ramiro Elixio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smith. If Ladislao Gaxan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Cesar Izel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harp Blues FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesar Izel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Cordeal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Smith defense, Leopoldo Abajas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mario Cordeal. The Smith fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Cordeal should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Abajas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Cordeal. Smith's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leopoldo Abajas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Abajas in the 35th minute of play forced Smith's goalkeeper Mario Cordeal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Emeterio in the 39th minute of play forced Harp Blues FC's goalkeeper Ramiro Elixio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Elixio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Emeterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
