Jacobo Remicio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Higinio Manni in the 36th minute of the match. In the 42ndth minute of the game Coy Banks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mercedes's Urbano Jusepe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Manni in the 45th minute of play forced Dorrego's goalkeeper Jacobo Remicio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Anacleto Quilo fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mercedes's protests and gave Anacleto Quilo a yellow card for diving instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Higinio Manni to strike the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Edwardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Urbano Jusepe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuel Edwardo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute Emanuel Eudoxio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Remicio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacobo Remicio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Urbano Jusepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coy Banks in the 88th minute of play. Urbano Jusepe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Coy Banks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Remicio didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 97th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. The Mercedes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mercedes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
