Gonzalo Gudesteo came out of the goal and Isaac Rico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Capitan Frio's Tadeo Baristo suffered a sore thigh after 83 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Anibal Selmo's late challenge caught a Capitan Frio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anibal Selmo helped the player get up and apologised. Resistencia Central were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Capitan Frio's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ambrosio Argina took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Capitan Frio's goalie and right to Justo Xabat. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Capitan Frio's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Anibal Selmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Laurgain having to interfere. The Resistencia Central supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Resistencia Central would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
