Justo Xabat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Kelemen having to interfere. Resistencia Central's Gonzalo Gudesteo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Katia in the 38th minute of play. Ramiro Bras's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonzalo Gudesteo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Justo Xabat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resistencia Central's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justo Xabat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Anibal Selmo kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Dalmacio Quin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
