The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guido Avellaneda during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Chatran FC's Mariano Reyes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Romelio. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. In the 12th minute of the match, Mariano Reyes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rolando Romelio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Chatran FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Hector Ramos hit a great ball. Deportivo Granate were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Chatran FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herminio Savion took the corner. The corner led to Deportivo Granate's Lázaro Elia getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When Delmar Blasco fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Granate's protests and gave Delmar Blasco a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Deportivo Granate fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Chatran FC a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rius Rulan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Deportivo Granate's Rolando Romelio. 2-0. If Efrain Sabino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes, Maximo Sugoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chatran FC and the Deportivo Granate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Chatran FC got a freekick which was hit by Maximo Sugoi. In the 26th minute, Efrain Sabino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnold Cubitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Sabino in the 31st minute of play. Eustacio Romo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 40th match minute, Chatran FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernan Jerardo to maneuver through the defense. Chatran FC's Arnold Cubitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efrain Sabino in the 42nd minute of play. Deportivo Granate's Herminio Savion couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Chatran FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Criston in the 47th minute of play forced Chatran FC's goalkeeper Arnold Cubitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Efrain Sabino to strike the kick off in the second half. Efrain Sabino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnold Cubitt having to interfere. Deportivo Granate's Rolando Romelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Reyes in the 58th minute of play. Mariano Reyes took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Romelio. Rolando Romelio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Gregorio Etxahun charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gregorio Etxahun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Deportivo Granate getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gregorio Etxahun hit a great ball. After 68 played minutes Deportivo Granate got a freekick which was hit by Guido Avellaneda. Arnold Cubitt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godofredo Criston in the 71st minute. Rolando Romelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Reyes, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Godofredo Criston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chatran FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
