The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Miguel Diagur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenio Mero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Tocala FC's Aquilino Astudillo got a free kick in the 6th minute. With his leg Chi Bain managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Pichanal's Isidoro Reyes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 24th minute Raimundo Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chi Bain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundo Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Chi Bain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isidoro Reyes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 38th playminute. If Abel Sanduru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Diagur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Mero in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Arsenio Mero made the kick off in the second half. Arsenio Mero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Isidoro Reyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Chi Bain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Sanduru came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Miguel Diagur could save by the left post. If Arsenio Mero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abel Sandurus short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Miguel Diagur to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 70 minutes into the game, Artemio Fresco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pichanal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tocala FC the free kick. The supporters of Tocala FC booed when Pichanal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Fresco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pichanal's Miguel Diagur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Mero in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Tocala FC's Arsenio Mero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Diagur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Pichanal's goalkeeper Miguel Diagur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Sanduru. In the 84th minute, Bernabe Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Sandurus short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Miguel Diagur to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Arsenio Mero sped through Pichanal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Miguel Diagur. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pichanal fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tocala FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
