Spectators: 7270 (Terracing: 5454, Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Desiderio Modestio kicked off to start the match. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Frontera's goalkeeper Nicanor Gizon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 8 minutes of play, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Aquilino Tallia made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicasio Iban kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Desiderio Modestio made a precise shot to the right of Nicanor Gizon. Frontera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 27th minute, Desiderio Modestio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gimnasia y Esgrima LP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 32nd minute, but Sixto Cai got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Gimnasia y Esgrima LP hanging dry this time. Aquilino Tallia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Nicanor Gizon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicanor Gizon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Desiderio Modestio's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Jorge Dubardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicanor Gizon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desiderio Modestio, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ambrosio Kaiet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Frontera's zone, Oscar Sesuldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicanor Gizon came out of the goal and Oscar Sesuldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Kaiet in the 53rd minute of play forced Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's goalkeeper Sixto Cai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anacleto Lehior hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Desiderio Modestio in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicanor Gizon saved Frontera from getting behind. Aquilino Tallia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicanor Gizon having to interfere. Frontera's Nicanor Gizon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Modestio in the 70th minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lisandro Berdaitz to maneuver through the defense. Frontera's Ambrosio Kaiet got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ambrosio Kaiet might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sixto Cai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ambrosio Kaiet ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jorge Dubardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Aquilino Tallia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Gimnasia y Esgrima LP supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gimnasia y Esgrima LP would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
