Sixto Cai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Higinio Botello, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. ZionTeam's Higinio Laurentzi suffered a concussion in the 21st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Saul Esquipula fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's protests and gave Saul Esquipula a yellow card for diving instead. Saul Esquipula kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Alejo Txilar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ZionTeam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gimnasia y Esgrima LP the free kick. A collision led to ZionTeam getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Alejo Txilar hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Aquilino Tallia made a precise shot to the right of Benedicto Micael. ZionTeam's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Lisandro Berdaitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Micael having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Aquilino Tallia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sixto Cai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higinio Botello in the 44th minute of play. Angelo Baumer placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Higinio Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When Oscar Sesuldo came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Gimnasia y Esgrima LP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Sesuldo couldn't finish the play. Higinio Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Cai having to interfere. A collision led to ZionTeam getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Angelo Baumer hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Aquilino Tallia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedicto Micael narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Higinio Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Cai having to interfere. Narciso Macias kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Oscar Sesuldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Lisandro Berdaitz got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the game, Pascual Leocadio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZionTeam the free kick. In the 89th match minute, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Leocadio to maneuver through the defense. Higinio Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Cai having to interfere. Sixto Cai made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Higinio Botello sent off a good shot on target. Benedicto Micael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquilino Tallia in the 100th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the ZionTeam players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gimnasia y Esgrima LP.
