In the 4th minute, Ovidio Berbiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Placido Orlondo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horacio Vachon's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Placido Orlondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidio Berbiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ovidio Berbiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Placido Orlondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Placido Orlondo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horacio Vachon's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Atl. Libertador's Placido Orlondo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Vachon in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, Ovidio Berbiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Achiras AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Berbiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Achiras AFC's goalkeeper Leonardo Oriche had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julio Orixe. Abelardo Garoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Oriche having to interfere. In the 30th minute Ovidio Berbiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Orlondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genaro Tabb kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36thth minute of the game Horacio Vachon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atl. Libertador's Placido Orlondo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Horacio Vachon took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Placido Orlondo. Placido Orlondo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Horacio Vachon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Ovidio Berbiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Placido Orlondo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Berbiz in the 47th minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidio Berbiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Arnaldo Steven fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Achiras AFC's protests and gave Arnaldo Steven a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Achiras AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! Leonardo Oriche had in the 54thth minute some difficulties stopping Simon Lorencio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Simon Lorencio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Achiras AFC's Leonardo Oriche. Leonardo Oriche was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ovidio Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ovidio Berbiz came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Achiras AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Berbiz couldn't finish the play. Cristo Bieito hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Ovidio Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Dayam kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After having played for 66 minutes, Horacio Vachon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Achiras AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horacio Vachon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Orixe might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Oriche. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julio Orixe ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 minutes, Genaro Tabb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atl. Libertador and the Achiras AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atl. Libertador's Genaro Tabb got a free kick in the 75th minute. Leo Dayam's late challenge caught a Achiras AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Dayam helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Atl. Libertador getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Leo Dayam hit a great ball. Ovidio Berbiz struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Placido Orlondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Achiras AFC. Julio Orixe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Leonardo Oriche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horacio Vachon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Placido Orlondo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Vachon got free with Placido Orlondo in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the game, Horacio Vachon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Placido Orlondo. Horacio Vachon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2.
