After a rather tough play, Club Atlético de Milán's Herminio Lon got a free kick in the 36th minute. Mariano Rivas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Sancho having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Angelino Argoitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Sancho was relentless in the 45th minute of the game.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelino Argoitz to make the kick off.
