Los Fundamentalistas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Eguen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacinto Chano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Ebardo in the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Eguen was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Los Fundamentalistas's Jacinto Chano got control of the ball when German Ebardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gabriel Eguen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Artemio Harriet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilfredo Cordarryl's late challenge caught a Bathurst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
