Eriberto Claris came out of the goal and Maximino Sanchez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabricio Etxeberri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Salto's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Luix came free, but Haroldo Heriberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eriberto Claris stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Atilano Baristo's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. A collision led to Atletico Tandil getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Paulino Lixandro hit a great ball. Atilano Baristo struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Eriberto Claris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salto. Eriberto Claris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximino Sanchez in the 40th minute. Maximino Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Claris having to interfere. The supporters of Salto booed when Atletico Tandil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Quinteros didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
