Lorenzo Elorri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leandro Mikeldi went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 15th minute Abel Cefero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amador Etor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Leandro Mikeldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Tauro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the game, one of Boca juniors:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Benicio Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Carlos Quilo came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Boca juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Quilo couldn't finish the play. Boca juniors's Ciriaco Ireno got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Quilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lorenzo Elorri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Quilo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Lorenzo Elorri managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Boca juniors's Benicio Romero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Benicio Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 85th minute Ciriaco Ireno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Elorri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carlos Quilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benicio Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boca juniors's Benicio Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benicio Romero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lorenzo Elorri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Boca juniors's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
