Santiago Tavio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rene Fero's late challenge caught a Los Pibes Magos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rene Fero helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th match minute, Naunauco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Fero to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel Frances in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edelmiro Etxeberri saved Naunauco from getting behind. When Dionisio Frisco came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Naunauco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Frisco couldn't finish the play. After the first half Naunauco were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
