After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Ivan Jaunzuria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macacha's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Jaunzuria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Dacio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Timoteo Astrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 27 minutes, Ivan Jaunzuria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macacha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Jaunzuria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Macacha booed when Santamarina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Silvino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Gaston Abarca sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Santamarina FC's Jairo Dacio didn't even have to move. With a little luck, Macacha's Severiano Demesio got control of the ball when Timoteo Astrada tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Santamarina FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jonas Silvino hit a great ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santamarina FC's goalkeeper Jairo Dacio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Ivan Jaunzuria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Dacio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nicasio Harri kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 46th play minutes Americo Firmo shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Jairo Dacio and just under the crossbar into goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Timoteo Astrada stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jairo Dacio made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Americo Firmo sent off a good shot on target. Jairo Dacio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Jaunzuria, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Santamarina FC's Jairo Dacio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Jaunzuria in the 63rd minute of play. Timoteo Astrada ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivan Jaunzuria charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivan Jaunzuria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Macacha's Ivan Jaunzuria got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Timoteo Astrada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Gaztea during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 74 played minutes Macacha got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Gaztea. Bartolo Peyo, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jairo Dacio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silverio Cisco in the 81st minute. In the 88th minute Timoteo Astrada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Demesio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niceto Orlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Firmin hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Macacha supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Macacha would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
