The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ramon Rosario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Eli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Tiburcio Eli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Villa Paez fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Tiburcio Eli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Villa Paez's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiburcio Eli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Rosario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pueblo FC's Ramon Rosario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Eli in the 29th minute of play. Edgardo Tuste kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to Pueblo FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Cornelio Selatse hit a great ball. Guillermo Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tiburcio Millrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Peli got free with Tiburcio Millrick in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Guillermo Vidal came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Pueblo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guillermo Vidal couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Daniel Peli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Deportivo Villa Paez were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tiburcio Eli received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ramon Rosario came out and tried to block the shot, but Tiburcio Eli slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 52nd minute. Tiburcio Millrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelio Selatse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pueblo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Tiburcio Eli scored to the left of an out of position Ramon Rosario, making the score, 0-4. In the 69th match minute, Pueblo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornelio Selatse to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Oliverio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Ramon Rosario was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 86th minute, Daniel Peli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pueblo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. If Cornelio Selatse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Pueblo FC's Daniel Peli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiburcio Millrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had been going on for 95 minutes Edgardo Tuste shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Tiburcio Millrick when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. The Deportivo Villa Paez supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deportivo Villa Paez would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
