Ramon Urtsua didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Simon Cedro went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 17 minutes into the game, Desamparado de San Juan's Simon Cedro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ramon Urtsua made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 20th minute, Benigno Corderro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Desamparado de San Juan's Jonatan Umbruso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonatan Umbruso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Desamparado de San Juan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonatan Umbruso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After some careless play in the Desamparado de San Juan defense, Teobaldo Orain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abelardo Astrada. The Desamparado de San Juan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abelardo Astrada should have stopped the shot. After having played for 26 minutes, Pedro Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pincén's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Hernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pincén's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 38 minutes into the match, Pincén's goal looked a bit too open when Hamdullah Nedret came free, but Ramon Urtsua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Desamparado de San Juan getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Abel Lohitzun hit a great ball. When Iker Lordi came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Pincén fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iker Lordi couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Llin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Hugo Senin fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desamparado de San Juan's protests and gave Hugo Senin a yellow card for diving instead. Hugo Senin hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the game, Hamdullah Nedret cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Ramon Urtsua was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 63 minutes into the match, Desamparado de San Juan's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Llin came free, but Abelardo Astrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Lohitzun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Pincén's zone, Hamdullah Nedret stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Urtsua came out of the goal and Hamdullah Nedret tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Javier Llin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Desamparado de San Juan eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
