Aureliano Cordaro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Pirates's zone, Cipriano Dantel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aureliano Cordaro came out of the goal and Cipriano Dantel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Sein to make the kick off. When Celestino Ted fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RIBER PLATE's protests and gave Celestino Ted a yellow card for diving instead. Celestino Ted kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Aureliano Cordaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Dantel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pirates's Aureliano Cordaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Dantel in the 57th minute of play. Aureliano Cordaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Dantel in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Pirates's goalkeeper Aureliano Cordaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haroldo Ekialde. A collision led to Pirates getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Luisito Sindo hit a great ball. Aureliano Cordaro made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Haroldo Ekialde sent off a good shot on target. Pirates's Aureliano Cordaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Dantel in the 75th minute of play. Aureliano Cordaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benicio Balendin in the 76th minute. If Carlos Sein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Vergaray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The RIBER PLATE supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing RIBER PLATE would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
