Julian Llanos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Angelo Abastas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeo Lidon, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute of the match Blas Iztal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelo Abastas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Julian Llanos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Abastas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Lidon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Gaufred got free with Pastor Isusko in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pastor Isusko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damian Hug in the 28th minute. Oscar Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pastor Isusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Damian Hug had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Guillermo Ponciano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Hug got free with Pastor Isusko in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelo Abastas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Llanos's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oscar Ramos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st match minute, Club Atlético Madurga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Jurdan to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Llanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Abastas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CA Rafaela's Leopoldo Caton got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 76th minute, Tadeo Lidon fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Angelo Abastas, passed just outside the right post. Club Atlético Madurga were furious when Jeronimo Vigil was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Madurga's goalkeeper Pastor Isusko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Oscar Ramos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CA Rafaela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 95th match minute, Club Atlético Madurga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Paskal to maneuver through the defense. CA Rafaela's Leopoldo Caton got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Leopoldo Caton off the ground. Club Atlético Madurga's Julian Llanos got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
