The referee ignored DEPORTIVO's protests and gave Efrain Cordero a yellow card for diving instead. 0-1 came in the 20th minute when Valentin Gaufred all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Rogelio Nabar. DEPORTIVO's Rogelio Nabar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Ramos in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Damian Hug cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rogelio Nabar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute, Cornelio Damario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the game, CA Rafaela's Oscar Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogelio Nabar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Oscar Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ovidio Jusepe to make the kick off. 63 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Gutierrez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Rafaela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DEPORTIVO the free kick. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CA Rafaela! Ovidio Jusepe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes, Leopoldo Caton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Rafaela and the DEPORTIVO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 91 played minutes CA Rafaela got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Caton. DEPORTIVO's Agustin Ebardo got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
