Herminio Eliu started the match with the kick off. The supporters of PENAYOFC booed when Old Borrachians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Hever didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hermengildo Perpinya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Intxixu having to interfere. In the 10th minute Hermengildo Perpinya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Intxixu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hermengildo Perpinya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Intxixu was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Hermengildo Perpinya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Alfredo Intxixu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Intxixu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfredo Intxixu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Quilino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herminio Eliu got free with Carlos Avellaneda in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Intxixu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermengildo Perpinya, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Jairo Jurdan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Old Borrachians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Jurdan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute Hermengildo Perpinya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Intxixu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ambrosio Rivas made in the 47th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Hermengildo Perpinya however managed to control. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 54th match minute, Old Borrachians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermengildo Perpinya to maneuver through the defense. Jacinto Perez hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The supporters of Old Borrachians booed when PENAYOFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Behe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Intxixu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermengildo Perpinya in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Eliu in the 67th minute of play forced Old Borrachians's goalkeeper Carlos Avellaneda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, PENAYOFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jairo Jurdan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jacinto Perez hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Tomás Ekain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Carlos Avellaneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, PENAYOFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hermengildo Perpinya came free, but Alfredo Intxixu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Leheren hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When Old Borrachians's Hermengildo Perpinya in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PENAYOFC's goalie prevented a goal. After 87 played minutes PENAYOFC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Castulo. Jairo Jurdan struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Alfredo Intxixu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old Borrachians. The crowd rose to their feet as Old Borrachians's Hermengildo Perpinya slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alfredo Intxixu. That made the score 0-1 after 92 minutes of play. The Old Borrachians supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Old Borrachians would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
