Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gregorio Dalmai started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Conrado Cebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ivan Benitez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Gregorio Dalmai kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fidel Niva. That made the score 1-1 in the 6 minute of play. Ivan Benitez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Cebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Fidel Niva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Dalmai in the 13th minute of the match. When Roman Pudes fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zonda's protests and gave Roman Pudes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Independiente booed when Zonda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Pudes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Independiente's Fidel Niva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Independiente from getting a goal against them. Fidel Niva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Dalmai in the 27th minute of the match. With a little luck, Independiente's Fidel Niva got control of the ball when Severo Guerau tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Conrado Cebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zonda's Rigoberto Caton shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fidel Niva but with some difficulty. Conrado Cebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severo Guerau got free with Fidel Niva in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Roman Pudes tried in the 53rd minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Ivan Benitez a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-2. Severo Guerau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Niva having to interfere. Fidel Niva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severo Guerau's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Fidel Niva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Guerau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Dalmai came free, but Fidel Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Bernardino Pasqual had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fidel Niva. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardino Pasqual was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 77 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Guerau came free, but Fidel Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fidel Niva came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Zonda's Bernardino Pasqual. But to his dismay, Bernardino Pasqual quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Gregorio Dalmai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Fidel Niva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fidel Niva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Guerau in the 90th minute of play. Fidel Niva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardino Pasqual, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Pudes came free, but Fidel Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
