The referee felt a red card was in order, 15 minutes into the game, when Valentin Raebert put in a rough tackle. 14 minutes into the game, one of Independiente:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 21 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Silverio Maore came free, but Teodosio Panpili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Silverio Maore ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teodosio Panpili was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodosio Panpili should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albino Torres made a kick off. Arnulfo Gaitano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Teodosio Panpili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albino Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Cambranes having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Albino Torres notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Berutti's Jonathan Cambranes. Jonathan Cambranes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Amador Peio struck a weak shot in the 65th minute.
