Spectators: 7180 (Terracing: 5387, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 142) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Claudio Gudesteo kicked off to start the match. Green Hills's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudio Gudesteo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Gumaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Green Hills fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Green Hills's Rosendo Paulin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Claudio Gudesteo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Ourente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Avaí Futebol Clube's Eleuterio Castel got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ariel Frances during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot 24 in the game by Eleuterio Castel from a close distance when the talented Feliberto Gaskon managed to make a qualified save. Green Hills's players were relieved. Green Hills's Feliberto Gaskon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Luar in the 25th minute of play. Aldo Jerardo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adrian Gumaro. Avaí Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Green Hills was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Jerardo to maneuver through the defense. Eleuterio Castel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Feliberto Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Gudesteo in the 34th minute of play forced Avaí Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Adrian Gumaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eleuterio Castel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Feliberto Gaskon made a huge save. Alvaro Luar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliberto Gaskon having to interfere. Eleuterio Castel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Feliberto Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Green Hills's Rosendo Paulin got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Green Hills were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eleuterio Castel to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Claudio Gudesteo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Green Hills's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Gudesteo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rosendo Paulin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrian Gumaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Feliberto Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eleuterio Castel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Alvaro Luar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliberto Gaskon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Rosendo Paulin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrian Gumaro. Avaí Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rosendo Paulin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Adrian Gumaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosendo Paulin in the 61st minute. Claudio Gudesteo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrian Gumaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Rosendo Paulin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Gumaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosendo Paulin in the 70th minute. Adrian Gumaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Gudesteo in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 played minutes Avaí Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Luar. Rosendo Paulins short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Adrian Gumaro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Avaí Futebol Clube's Alvaro Luar got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Avaí Futebol Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! Feliberto Gaskon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Castel in the 91st minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Apolo Vermudo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Avaí Futebol Clube's Alvaro Luar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The Green Hills supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Green Hills would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
