After a defensive mix-up in Catuna FC's zone, Silvestre Ofelio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimeno Bernebe came out of the goal and Silvestre Ofelio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Mendiko during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Schalke 04's Martin Mendiko got a free kick in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejo Martino got free with Rodolfo Cordara in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the match, Inocencio Diagur dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rodolfo Cordara, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The referee ignored Catuna FC's protests and gave Emilio Barea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Catuna FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Emilio Barea hit a great ball.
