Tabaquillo's Alfonso Kaiet was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Camilo Hermon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 27th minute, Victoriano Lluis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Leonel Licerio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Camilo Hermon. That made the score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Tiniebra during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 31 played minutes Los Pitufos FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Tiniebra. Venancio Dabi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cleto Soin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Los Pitufos FC's Cleto Soin got a free kick in the 38th minute. Eriberto Paul's late challenge caught a Los Pitufos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eriberto Paul helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Tabaquillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Paul to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cleto Soin might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albano Dominic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cleto Soin ran back to his position shaking his head. Leonel Licerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Hermon having to interfere.
