Salvador Nikola started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Gerazan in the 6th minute of play forced Port Talbot C.F.'s goalkeeper Mauricio Estebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Port Talbot C.F.'s zone, Dante Gerazan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauricio Estebe came out of the goal and Dante Gerazan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Insomnio's Marcial Evangelista got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Salvador Nikola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerardo Figueroa was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Barros during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Port Talbot C.F.'s Victor Barros got a free kick in the 13th minute. If Marcial Evangelista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauricio Estebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dante Gerazan in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Port Talbot C.F. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Victorio Hug hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Insomnio's Aurelio Goren broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dante Gerazan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Rodolfo Burni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Port Talbot C.F.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Burni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerardo Figueroa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Salvador Nikola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Figueroa having to interfere. When Marcial Evangelista came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Insomnio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcial Evangelista couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Gerazan in the 45th minute of play forced Port Talbot C.F.'s goalkeeper Mauricio Estebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauricio Estebe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dante Gerazan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dante Gerazan to make the kick off. Rodolfo Burni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Gerardo Figueroa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Insomnio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcial Evangelista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute Dante Gerazan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Estebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salvador Nikola struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Gerardo Figueroa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Port Talbot C.F.. Gerardo Figueroa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Burni in the 76th minute of play. Mauricio Estebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Gerazan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Marcial Evangelista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Victorio Hug fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Port Talbot C.F.'s protests and gave Victorio Hug a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Insomnio booed when Port Talbot C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Hug didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauricio Estebe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dante Gerazan's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The Insomnio players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Port Talbot C.F. from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
