Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Vicente Enaut took the kick off in the first half of the match. Gustavo Guillelmo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 8th minute, Felix Vincent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Tulio's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Anastasio Abancens on his right side and into the goal. 9 minutes into the game it was 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Lértora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Vincent to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lértora's zone, Gustavo Guillelmo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anastasio Abancens came out of the goal and Gustavo Guillelmo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Lértora defense, Gustavo Guillelmo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anastasio Abancens. The Lértora fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anastasio Abancens should have stopped the shot. Vicente Enaut struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Anastasio Abancens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. The supporters of River Plate booed when Lértora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Maura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lértora's Anastasio Abancens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Suarez in the 31st minute of play. Elias Bernal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergio Jesco's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Felix Vincent hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Anastasio Abancens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Guillelmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Anastasio Abancens came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Gustavo Guillelmo. But to his dismay, Gustavo Guillelmo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Gustavo Guillelmo struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Anastasio Abancens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. The Lértora players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. River Plate were winning 0-3.

After 58 played minutes, Lértora's Gustavo Pinto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elias Bernal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lértora reached it. Anastasio Abancens was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Generoso Roldanillo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vicente Enaut in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anastasio Abancens saved Lértora from getting behind. Vicente Enaut blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anastasio Abancens having to make a save. Sergio Jesco hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Anastasio Abancens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Enaut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Vicente Enaut managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Enaut was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anastasio Abancens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lisandro Suarez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Anastasio Abancens made a huge save. Anastasio Abancens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Tanio, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the match, River Plate's Gustavo Guillelmo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anastasio Abancens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vicente Enaut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Anastasio Abancens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over River Plate could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lértora throughout the match.
