In the 19thth minute of the game Leonel Urbes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gatorei's Victorio Niva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Atahona FC fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Atahona FC's Leonel Urbes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Gatorei booed when Atahona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Hibai didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ambrosio Peli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Atahona FC's Nestor Illart got a free kick in the 30th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lorenzo Pierres couldn't finish the play. Gerardo Orkatz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambrosio Peli having to interfere. Ambrosio Peli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Pierres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anier Ioritz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anier Ioritz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
