With an all-out effort, RIVER PLATE's Angel Jorrin threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hilario Silbestre, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Benjamin Gurutz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Isaias Lugo came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Acebal's Samuel Guillelmo. But to his dismay, Samuel Guillelmo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 14th minute, Virgilio Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 16 minutes, Bruno Enekoitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acebal and the RIVER PLATE players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Acebal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! Adrian Tulio placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Acebal's Angel Jorrin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Acebal from getting a goal against them. Samuel Guillelmo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isaias Lugo having to make a save. Samuel Guillelmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Benjamin Gurutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaias Lugo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Benjamin Gurutz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samuel Guillelmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Hilario Silbestre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Acebal's Angel Jorrin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Guillelmo made a kick off. In the 54th minute Celedonio Lizer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaias Lugo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustaquio Nesor kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Angel Jorrin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Silbestre in the 73rd minute of play. Benjamin Gurutz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Isaias Lugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Guillelmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save RIVER PLATE from getting a goal against them. Ambrosio Firman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Jorrin having to interfere. Ambrosio Firman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acebal were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
