To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the match, Bernardino Hodei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvio Innocenzio. Rosario Balompié 1889's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardino Hodei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Leon Burni's late challenge caught a Atletico Tongante's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leon Burni helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Rosario Balompié 1889 got a freekick which was hit by Leon Burni. Elias Jago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Silvio Innocenzio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvio Innocenzio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Jago in the 43rd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Sergio Guillem made the kick off in the second half. Atletico Tongante's Rogelio Nayely played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Ostots in the 55th minute of play. Sergio Guillem scored 1-3 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogelio Nayely, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rogelio Nayely showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Guillem, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 74th minute, Elias Jago fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Jago in the 75th minute of play forced Rosario Balompié 1889's goalkeeper Silvio Innocenzio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bernardino Hodei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atletico Tongante's Rogelio Nayely played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Ostots in the 87th minute of play. The Atletico Tongante supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atletico Tongante would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
