Aureliano Baudelio charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Club Atlético Decadente booed when Gimnasia LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aureliano Baudelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Decadente's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Veto came free, but Arnoldo Nisio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gimnasia LP's Victoriano Frutos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Gimnasia LP from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Club Atlético Decadente getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Fernando Santio hit a great ball. Victorio Alvarez hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Victoriano Frutos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Santio, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Fernando Santio kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 35th match minute, Club Atlético Decadente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Abilio to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Veto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabio Dalmau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoldo Nisio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Rolando Chago came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Victoriano Frutos could save by the left post. Victoriano Frutos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Santio, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabio Dalmau to make the kick off. Fernando Santio took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victoriano Frutos. Victoriano Frutos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Marcos Veto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Arnoldo Nisio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Marcos Veto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia LP's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Veto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnoldo Nisio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabio Dalmau might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnoldo Nisio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabio Dalmau ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernando Santio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Victoriano Frutos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Rolando Chago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Inko charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Inko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 89 played minutes Gimnasia LP got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Inko. In the 90th minute, Jose Senin sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gimnasia LP's Victoriano Frutos didn't even have to move. Victoriano Frutos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Santio's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. 98 minutes into the game, Marcos Veto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Arnoldo Nisio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gimnasia LP eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
