Astor Oriche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Ignatius in the 7th minute of play. Everardo Mingo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Ignatius in the 13th minute of play forced Viamonte's goalkeeper Astor Oriche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Vinicio Ignatius put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Astor Oriche. The supporters of Viamonte booed when Estudiantes de Caseros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Frisco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Benicio Francesco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Norberto Domenec came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Estudiantes de Caseros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Domenec couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Estudiantes de Caseros's Cosme Leizarraga got control of the ball when Benicio Francesco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Viamonte's Astor Oriche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Domenec in the 39th minute of play. Cosme Leizarraga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Everardo Mingo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto Domenec got free with Astor Oriche in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Estudiantes de Caseros's Cosme Leizarraga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everardo Mingo in the 56th minute of play. After 58 minutes Estudiantes de Caseros's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adrian Tartalo who took care of the corner kick. Viamonte's Adrian Tartalo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cosme Leizarraga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 59 played minutes Viamonte got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Milian. In the 63rd minute Vinicio Ignatius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Oriche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teofilo Lon hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Angel Sauveur sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Viamonte's Astor Oriche didn't even have to move. After 69 minutes, Domingos Bartoli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viamonte and the Estudiantes de Caseros players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th minute, one of Viamonte:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Viamonte. Cosme Leizarraga came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Viamonte's Everardo Mingo. But to his dismay, Everardo Mingo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Cosme Leizarraga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Mingo in the 81st minute of play. Cosme Leizarraga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Francesco in the 82nd minute of the match. When Eloy Nesor fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes de Caseros's protests and gave Eloy Nesor a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Viamonte a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adrian Tartalo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Estudiantes de Caseros's Cosme Leizarraga. 2-2. 90 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Caseros's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Francesco came free, but Cosme Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Milian kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
