When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Maximo Eleder put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Evelio Gorosti. In the 13th minute, Maximo Eleder left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matafueguistas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Fernando Eneto's late challenge caught a Salto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Eneto helped the player get up and apologised. Eusebio Enmanuel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Grabiel in the 26th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Gorosti in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evelio Gorosti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 played minutes Matafueguistas got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Eneto. In the 34th minute Celestino Grabiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Enmanuel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebio Enmanuel having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Fernando Valente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eusebio Enmanuel. Matafueguistas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Valente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half Matafueguistas were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maximo Eleder stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Maximo Eleder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maximo Eleder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maximo Eleder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Salto's goal looked a bit too open when Maximo Eleder came free, but Evelio Gorosti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Salto's zone, Christian Gorosti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evelio Gorosti came out of the goal and Christian Gorosti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celestino Grabiel scored 2-2 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eusebio Enmanuel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Baldomiro Bonifaco kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Christian Gorosti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 95th minute, Maximo Eleder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christian Gorosti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Matafueguistas players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
