The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Gaudencio Castulo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisito Romo was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justo Jeraldo in the 17th minute of play forced Circulo Italiano's goalkeeper Luisito Romo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Circulo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Mannie came free, but Luisito Romo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Justo Jeraldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justo Jeraldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Circulo Italiano getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Rodolfo Daunte hit a great ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Isaias Iago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Circulo Italiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Iago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Rodolfo Daunte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Braulio Sadurni took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Guaberto Veto to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Circulo Italiano getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Rodolfo Daunte hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaudencio Castulo during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes San Lorenzo de Almagro got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Castulo. Braulio Sadurni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Candido Mannie to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Candido Mannie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luisito Romo. Luisito Romo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Guaberto Veto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Daunte in the 61st minute of the match. In the 65th match minute, San Lorenzo de Almagro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaudencio Castulo to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Braulio Sadurni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as San Lorenzo de Almagro's Candido Mannie slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luisito Romo. That made the score 2-2 after 77 minutes of play. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Almagro booed when Circulo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Daunte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justo Jeraldo in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luisito Romo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Justo Jeraldo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Luisito Romo made a huge save. After 90 minutes, Justo Jeraldo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lorenzo de Almagro and the Circulo Italiano players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Justo Jeraldo got a free kick in the 91st minute. Rodolfo Daunte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guaberto Veto having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Circulo Italiano failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
