The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Artemio Tab's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Mederi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alonzo Savion in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Ekialde saved Shmebulockians FC from getting behind. Infierno Rojo were furious when Fernando Mendebal was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 11 minutes into the game, one of Infierno Rojo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 14th minute, Shmebulockians FC got a penalty, and Bernardo Arnas placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Artemio Tab's late challenge caught a Infierno Rojo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artemio Tab helped the player get up and apologised. Artemio Tab kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Flavio Mederi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eustacio Lluc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Alonzo Savion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Alonzo Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Curcio scored 2-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Ekialde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eustacio Lluc to strike the kick off in the second half. Shmebulockians FC's Tobias Quinteros pulled a muscle in his back after 53 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Infierno Rojo getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Genaro Franco hit a great ball. Artemio Tab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Ekialde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Genaro Franco in the 65th minute. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Shmebulockians FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lino Unax was slow to take the kick. During this time Infierno Rojo's players had a chance to rest. Infierno Rojo's Lino Unax was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomas Ekialde in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Christian Shepherd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Shmebulockians FC's goalkeeper Tomas Ekialde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alonzo Savion. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artemio Tab in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Mederi saved Infierno Rojo from getting behind. If Artemio Tab had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Shmebulockians FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Infierno Rojo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
