Prospero Gilen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Quirce in the 16th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Evelio Venceslas put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Carmelo Silbestre. Carmelo Silbestre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 28 played minutes, Santa FC's Cosme Pacho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Prospero Gilen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santa FC reached it. In the 33rd minute, Saul Kaxen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Prospero Gilen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Edgard Quiroga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Silbestre having to interfere. The supporters of Recoleta F.C. booed when Santa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Pacho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evelio Venceslas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Carmelo Silbestre skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evelio Venceslas made a kick off. Edgard Quiroga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Silbestre having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Evelio Venceslas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carmelo Silbestre was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Rafael Chorche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Recoleta F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Chorche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carmelo Silbestre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Quirce got free with Prospero Gilen in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Santa FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
